Having a difficult time focusing on coursework...not exactly sure why. Work and classroom are doing great. Not overwhelmed at all with all things work. Connor had a game yesterday but not tomorrow. Nothing going on this weekend. I should be smooth sailing...I don't know, I love what I'm reading in this course but the assignments and discussions are rather meh. Found out TJ made the hockey team. Mary and her friends had a great time at the Zack Bryan concert. I just want to have an ice cream cone and go to bed.

It has been a busy busy busy August. Mary and Connor started school on August 13. We moved TJ into his house at IU on August 15. I started work on August 19. I was finishing up a course and starting a new one. I am STRESSED OUT! Oh and Mary's hockey season is kicking into full swing as is Connor's baseball. TJ is at tryouts as we speak!

Well, I just realized that I was using the wrong date...all day long...That may be one of the worst things today...well that and the AC in my classroom isn't working...Today marks the first day of my 30th year teaching AND it was the best first day ever! I KNEW this year was going to be GREAT!
Got to Facetime with TJ - oof I miss that kid! Mary ASKED if we could watch a show together!

Mary and Connor started school last Wednesday. We moved TJ into his house on Friday. Was tired all of Saturday and Sunday. I start back to work today - starting year 30! I both love and hate the beginning. It's exciting and new which I love but there is so much work at the beginning. I'm nervous this year that I have 21 students. I've completed my coursework for the summer and now await the grading. I've 100% on everything so far...but this group project...I don't know...I'm nervous about it. I've seen the syllabus for my next class and I'm already overwhelmed...send good vibes!

Oh dear, seems I got caught up in all things summer and then all things back to school and back to work. Summer was meh. I regret teaching summer school and I won't be doing that again. Summer family fun time was reduced significantly this summer due to three people's work schedules. Oh well. Mary started her sophomore year of high school. Connor started 8th grade. TJ took off this week and moves into his house tomorrow. I've been working in my classroom and feel really good about where I am in preparations. I'm set for 21 students. Coursework is going well and I see another A in my future. I'm excited to wrap up this class (Teachers as Leaders) and start my concentration classes in gifted education. Will try to post more often.

WOO HOO! I finished two of my three summer courses - two more A's! In one way I think "oh, I wish I had started a master's program earlier." But then I think, "yeah, but it might now mean what it means now." Everything in the right time.
I did have a glaring reminder that some people still have no clue what teachers actually do, what they are actually dealing with...
Someone recently asked my "how's your summer going, you know, since you don't have to work." But it was said as an insult. I need some snarky one-liners as a response.
